Isolation

Isolation~ to be alone, to no longer or at least for a time not be a part.  Most of us at one time or another, for one reason or another have found ourselves isolated. Sometimes we want to isolate because it just seems easier.

Sometimes, I admit, I like to isolate. To just take a break and be in my own cocoon. You know, inside there, I may be alone but hey, there’s no drama, nothing to have to worry about. At first it seems to be just the thing~ a breath of fresh air. But reality in a cocoon is that pretty soon the air is very stale and soon rancid. In the stale air we soon notice that despite a bright sunny day, it is dark and dreary. Changing channels on the TV doesn’t help. Trying a new radio station doesn’t do the trick. Looking around on facebook may even make things worse~ since everyone else has such perfect lives and mine is not only less than perfect, it is dark!

There is only one cure~ I must choose to come out of the cocoon and connect with others! When I make that choice I feel life flowing into me as I talk with and share life with others. I begin to feel vibrant and full of life! That’s because what I have been given was never meant to be hoarded. What other’s have was given them to share. It is like a river~ as long as it is flowing there is life. Sometimes there may even be danger in the rushing waters but it is alive with excitement! It can’t compare to the stagnate, stale water that never moves or flows. Life may have trials and tribulations but as long as I choose to remain outside my cocoon I can enjoy the sunshine and the flowers that dot my path. Inside my cocoon there isn’t much to enjoy because me, myself and I are boring companions in comparison to the vibrant life I can have on the outside of my cocoon! But…. It is up to me~   I must choose to venture out~~~ And when I do oh, what an adventure! Don’t you just love adventures?
