Love, Do Good, Bless and Pray

“But I tell you who hear Me: “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Luke 6:27

This verse really stood out to me recently. I had been praying for someone who had spoken falsely about me leading people to believe wrongly about me. When I read this verse it just leaped out to me that when people gossip about us and falsely accuse us JESUS tells us to bless them. Praying would probably have been easier, after all, who wants to bless those who are in essence cursing them? But, to do things GOD’S way is always the right way and the way of Life. So, I have been blessing. There has been a noticeable shift. The LORD is working! I have been pondering on this verse asking myself am I doing what it says to the best of my ability in all of these areas? When someone steals from me do I respond by praying for them or by telling all my friends how I’ve been wronged? Those people who are angry with me because I choose the standards of GOD for my life— do I do good deeds for those people or just the ones who think like me? Am I really loving my enemies after all JESUS died for His enemies— am I laying my life down so they see the love of JESUS?
My Prayer: LORD, help me to always do things Your way no matter how I feel about it or what I want to do. Your way is the only path to Life!!
