33:3

Jeremiah 33:3″Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

What a promise! Call here literally means- cry out. When we do our part the LORD promises to respond. To “cry out” denotes desperation, being vocal and loud. When we are in desperate need of Him and we cry out He shows up just as we do when our children cry out.
When we cry out He says He will not only answer but He will go a step further and tell us those unsearchable, indescribable things we don’t know. He doesn’t promise to give us all the answers and we will still have to walk in faith. But, when He answers He brings peace and rest to a troubled child!
I remember a very troubling time in my life when it seemed everything was going wrong! Just before going to sleep one night I had been deeply troubled over one of my children. In desperation and not understanding I cried out, “LORD, I trusted You! I don’t have another plan. You are all I believed in!” I remember feeling so broken and desperate. During the night there was a tap on my shoulder. When I looked up JESUS was there and He said, “Everything is going to be alright.” Such peace flooded my heart. He didn’t tell me my situation would change because it didn’t. I had to walk in faith that it would be alright. I never worried about it again but from time to time I did remind the LORD of his promise to me. My LORD answered my cry and brought me an assurance I did not know.
I believe He came because His daughter was crying out in desperation and my hope had been in Him. The LORD may answer you in a different way as He has me on other occasions. This is one of the most dramatic ways He answered but it is also one of my most desperate times. The point is, He will answer but we have to first cry out!
Sometimes I forget to cry out but when I do he always answers!
