GOD is Faithful!

Hebrews 11:11 “…. because he (Abraham) considered Him faithful who had made the promise.”

Abraham didn’t consider the difficulty of the promise. Instead he considered the faithfulness of the One who made the promise. In other words Abraham quit trying to figure out how GOD was going to revive a 100 year old man and a 90 year old woman and he chose to consider GOD faithful to do all He had promised. Abraham died believing the promise– all he had was the child of promise. He did not live to see his descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky as GOD had told him they would be. But he died believing!
We must hold on to the promises no matter how dead they may look. GOD works best with dead things anyway! Our minds will try to reason out how to bring the promise. But we can never do GOD’s job. Our job is to trust and obey. Easier said than done because in the time between the promise and the fulfillment of the promise we get antsy. We wonder if we heard right. We wonder if we are doing what we should. We wonder if we have missed the promise somewhere.
It is at the point where it seems all hope is lost that we must hold on to the promise with all our might, dig in our heels and declare, “I don’t care what it looks like! I don’t care what it feels like! I don’t care what people are saying! My GOD promised and He is FAITHFUL!!” Then stand firm, never wavering! Our feelings may falter and our thoughts may run wild but our resolve must always be to trust that He who made the promise is faithful!
