Waiting

Sometimes waiting for GOD to answer prayers can be tough. Our feeling may be that it’s been a long time. From my experience, GOD doesn’t usually act quickly but many times He does act suddenly!

Some years ago as I drove to work I’d pray over a place known for drugs. I asked the LORD to make it a place for families and that the drugs would no longer be sold there. After months of praying, one morning I arrived to work where everyone was talking about how the very place I’d been praying over had burned to the ground, during the night. A suddenly! Another place of business was built there where families gather regularly!

The testimony of JESUS is the Spirit of prophecy according to Revelations. Therefore, any testimony of what has happened is your prophecy of what the LORD will do for you. He is no respecter of person. If He will answer prayers for me, He will answer prayers for you. Don’t give up!

As you are waiting on your answered prayer here are some keys that will lock and unlock the doors to the answer.

The first key is we must settle in our mind that GOD is good. No matter what has happened in the past, no matter the troubles you’ve had today—- you may have been devastated, your world may have collapsed around you, you may have faced a world of trouble— but no matter what happens we must remain settled in the fact that GOD is good. We can’t confuse GOD who is good with life which is not fair.

This is key because when we know this it allows GOD to work His way and in His time without us becoming discouraged or complaining.

When we become discouraged we lose hope for what we are believing for. Hebrews 11:1 says faith is being sure of what we hope for, so if our hope is gone so is our faith. Keep trusting! GOD is good!

Complaining will also lock doors to breakthrough in prayer. Complaining is in essence saying to GOD that we aren’t grateful for His blessing because we are focused on what we don’t have. Being grateful opens the way— the Psalmist said, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving. Enter His courts with praise, be thankful to Him and bless His name.” Be thankful in all things. Praise GOD for who He is regularly.

Another key to opening your door for prayers to be answered is to always speak life– words that bring life not death. In Genesis 1 it says, “….. GOD said…” and then some pretty incredible things began to come forth. Things come forth when we speak as well. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says we must take our thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ. If our thoughts are life what we speak will also be life. Remember, GOD is good, so how will He view things? That’s how we should view them as well. What are you speaking over what you are asking the LORD to do?

When we moved back to this area when my husband retired from the Air Force, I loved being near family but I was used to Colorado Springs– and I loved it. So, my desire was to move to Huntsville where everything we needed was right around the corner. I was obedient and settled here but I wanted more choices of places to eat and things to do, a bigger Walmart. One day the LORD showed me my heart and explained how I couldn’t pray over Tallassee effectively while I complained about it. I repented and set my heart to be grateful. Sometimes, I have to reset my heart to be grateful, especially when I go to our bigger Walmart and they still don’t have what I need. But I have made up my mind and I am determined to be grateful and not complain.

What are you speaking over the loved ones you are praying for?

What are you speaking over your health? Your job? Your finances?

We can’t have victory with defeat in our mouth. We must take our thoughts captive and speak and believe what GOD says. Trust GOD is working no matter what you see!

The Keys to Open Breakthrough:
1. Remember always that GOD is good.
2. Be thankful in all things.
3. Praise GOD for who He is.
4. Speak words of life.
5. Trust that GOD is working— keep the faith.

If we have 1, 2 and 3 working in our lives 4 and 5 will flow more naturally. These things take discipline. As we implement them in our lives the atmosphere around us changes. We take our atmosphere with us, so we are affecting every where we go. Let’s take a Kingdom atmosphere!

Remember GOD is good and He is for you!
