Fiery Darts

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
Many know this verse and maybe even quote it often. We all know faith is important because without faith we can’t please GOD (Hebrews 11:6). But there is a picture I’ve been seeing lately that really has me thinking on if I am walking in faith! The picture I see is of flaming arrows barreling towards an army. They have their armor on (see Ephesians 6) but instead of having their shield of faith raised they are looking over the top of the shield. This is causing anxiety and panic. The worry and stress is because they are looking at the fiery darts. I feel the LORD is saying to raise your shield of faith so the flaming arrows can be extinguished. Remember faith is confidence in what we hope for<span class="crossreference" data-cr="#cen-NIV-30174A" data-link="(A)” style=”background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: ‘Helvetica Neue’, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 0.625em; line-height: 22px; position: relative; top: 0px; vertical-align: top;”> and assurance about what we do not see. This is why we keep our eyes (thoughts and attitudes of our heart) fixed on JESUS, the perfecter of our faith. When we take our eyes off the fiery darts and hold up our shield of faith then we are victorious through JESUS Christ our LORD.
