Psalm 1:1-3

Psalm 1:1-3 “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with scoffers. But they delight in doing everything the LORD wants; day and night they think about His law. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season without fail. Their leaves never wither, and  in all they do, they prosper.”

So many people refer to the Psalms as some of their favorite portions of scripture. They are rich with affirmations of the LORD’s love and faithfulness. This particular passage stood out to me because verse three is what we want in life– to have a constant source of water so we are vibrantly healthy, bearing fruit and just prosperous in all we do. In order for that to materialize though we have to use the keys of verses 1 and 2. They are so simple that I have read over them many times and missed the clues!

The keys are:
1. Don’t follow worldly advice.
2. Don’t hang out with the wrong crowd.
3. Delight in following God’s will not our own.
4. Meditate on God’s Word.

I love simple truths that when followed are life changing!
