Most Christians want to be in God’s perfect will. I have heard many say this. Others will say, “If I just knew what God wanted me to do.” So, how do we know God’s will? How can we be sure we are in His will?
Sometimes, it seems, there’s just no definitive answer. The best path to knowing God’s perfect will is not to wait until you need to know to begin your search. Knowing God’s will is a process, a process we should be yielding to daily. If we do this it will be much easier in a time of crisis to make the right choice.
The key to knowing God’s will is found in Romans 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. THEN you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is— His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
If we want to know God’s will we must renew our minds. When we line up how we think with how God thinks we can make clearer decisions. The wisdom of the world may “sound good” but to God it is foolish (1 Corinthians 3:19). The reason the wisdom of the world is foolish is because there is no life in it and in the end it will lead to death. We have all made decisions that, at the time, looked “good” but ended up being the wrong one.
The time to renew our mind is now so that when we make choices they line up with God’s way which will always be the path of life!
Why not ask the LORD today to show you any place your thinking doesn’t line up with His? Then you will be prepared for walking in His will!
