It’s A New Day

The last year has been a year of sorrow on many levels. So many have experienced so much grief. In my own family there have been eight extended family deaths. Two of my three animals died within a week. Disappointments have been all around. Over and over, in the midst of the trials, I have affirmed to the LORD, “I am not letting go of Your robe!”

No matter what has come my way, I KNOW He is faithful! He has never left me or forsaken me. No matter the heartache or trials He is trustworthy!

Then……He said to me, “It’s a new day!” I wrote it in my journal. About 30 minutes later I received an email with the subject, “It’s A New Day”. Confirmation! It is a new day because God is faithful! Winter is followed by Spring.

In the Spring life begins to be visible— it was there all along, even in the winter but we couldn’t see it. In winter things look bare and sort of gloomy but Oh, in the spring the glory comes. The trees begin to put on their leaves, flowers begin to bloom. One of my favorite things is birds begin to sing. The birds who have been gone for the winter return with joy! The days get longer. The temperature gets warmer so that everyone wants to get out and just enjoy the beauty. Spring is a glorious time!

As I was pondering on it being a new day, this scripture from Song of Songs (Song of Solomon) came to mind. In chapter 2 verses 11 and 12 it says, “See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.” I like how it starts out with “See!”, we need to take notice, pay attention to the blessings of newness and life springing up all around us! What stood out to me was in verse 12 it says, “the season of singing has come.” It’s a new day and that new day is a season of singing! The mourning of winter is past and it is time to sing and rejoice for the new day filled with expectation and PROMISE!!

What PROMISES are you expecting in this New Day?? I have a list!
