Anomaly

I awoke in the middle of the night with the word “anomaly” on my mind. It captured my attention because this is not a word I would usually use and why in the world was I thinking of it in the middle of the night?!? I just jotted the word down and went back to bed.

The next morning as soon as I got up I began my search for what does this word “anomaly” mean and why am I thinking about it? To get a clear meaning of the word I went in search of a good definition. I found that the word anomaly means– does not fit in; something that deviates from what is standard or normal or expected. (Dictionary.com)

I think most of us can relate to having felt we were an anomaly at some point or other in our life. Perhaps you think, “Well yes, I feel that right now.”

When words come to me in strange ways like this one I research the meaning but I also ask the Lord if there is anything He wants to share. I have found He has a lot to share if only I will be still and listen. So if you are an anomaly read on…..

As I asked the Lord about this word “anomaly” this is what I heard, “It’s time for the anomalies to find out what I created them to do; why I designed them different. They are not odd or wrong, they were just created to reflect another aspect of My glory. Their rarity makes them even more valuable.”

Wow! Did you get that? It is as we discover the gifts and uniqueness God has placed inside us that we are able to reflect His glory. It is in those times that we feel most alive because what God has created us for flows through us. We all know that the rarer a jewel is the more valuable it is. But, have you ever considered there is only one of you–very rare and very valuable. Think about it this way– if you do not yield to the expression God placed inside you it will never be expressed. Only you can express you! And may I add, you are supposed to deviate from the standard; you are not designed to fit in because you were designed by God to be a reflection of His glory.

Trust God for the grace to be all He created you to be! Celebrate being an anomaly!
