Only Believe

So many need prayer; it seems more so than usual. There is an onslaught from the enemy. All the firey darts must mean he is scared and so trying to steal our focus. This scripture from Isaiah is such a good promise to stand on.

“According as their deeds deserve, so will He repay wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; on the foreign islands and coastlands He will make compensation.

So [as the result of the Messiah’s intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives].”  Isaiah 59:18-19 (AMPC)

So often, when the flood of the enemy comes, fear comes with it because that is one of his primary tools. I am reminded of the account ( found in Mark 5, Matthew 11, Luke 8) of Jesus bringing Jairus’ daughter back to life. Can you imagine the fear and all the emotions Jairus and his wife were experiencing? They have just learned their 12-year-old daughter is dead. Instead of healing, they now need a resurrection. The enemy indeed came flooding over them with fear and hopelessness. But, look at what Jesus told them, “Do not fear, only believe.” (Mark 5:36) They took Him at His word and watched their daughter come to life! Fear will keep our promises dead, but trust will bring them to life! So, I encourage you with Jesus’ words, Do not fear, only believe.
